VPR College of Education started functioning from 2002-2003 at Proddatur after getting the approval of NCTE and the affiliating University, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. It was under the affiliation of S.V.University, Tirupati till 2009-2010. From 2010-11 it is under the affiliation of Y.V.University, Kadapa.

     Later with the approval of NCTE, the affiliating University and the Govt .of Andhra Pradesh, it was shifted to Kamalapuram from 2011. The college is accommodated in one acre of land and three Storyed (G+2) RCC roof building with the plinth area of 3537.91 sq.mts.

     It caters the needs of teachers in Primary and Secondary education schools in the State. It has both D.Ed, and B.Ed, courses . The college is headed by the Principal who possessed Ph.D. degree. All the other teaching staff members are well educated, experienced and committed. The performance of the staff is seen from the admissions and the results of the institutions.
